My granddaughter loves to be carried and now that she's a year old and over 22 lbs., it's getting a bit tiring for the arms. I've seen these types of hip carriers and this one works really well. The Velcro waist strap is fairly wide and holds very securely, but also includes a buckle to lock it in. There is also a belt extender if additional length is needed. It's comfortable if strapped just above the waist, so the seat sits on your hip (obviously). My granddaughter is about 30" tall and her head comes up to mine, so it's easy to balance her with just one hand. The only issue I had was that after about 15-20 minutes, my hips did start to tighten up from the pressure while walking. I will say that it's still easier than having to strap her into the stroller, especially if she's crying and wants to be carried. Also, once she starts walking, it will be convenient if she just needs to be carried for a few minutes and then put down to walk every once in a while. It might benefit from a shoulder strap to take some of the pressure off just the hip, but the design is good and it's a very well made product with strong fabric and stitching. They did include a small spray bottle that could be filled with sanitizer, but the spray top would not stay on. Overall, we're very satisfied with this and how well it's made.
What I like most about this carrier is how supportive it feels. The seat keeps the baby in a good position, and I don’t get as tired carrying for longer periods. The option to carry in front or back is helpful depending on what we’re doing. It also works well as the baby grows, which makes it feel like a smart purchase. Overall, it’s a solid choice for everyday use and travel.
The hip seat really helps take the weight off my shoulders and back. I feel totally secure with the wide Velcro and double locks. Plus, the storage pockets are super handy for wipes and my phone when I’m out and about with my baby.
Dupe for tush baby at a fraction of the price. I have a bunch of different brands and use them all the time. This is especially useful in the airport. Keep diapers and wipes in the pocket for quick access.
My 5 month old loves this hip carrier! It seems comfortable for him to sit in, and he loves the freedom of movement—without being so free that I’m stressed about him squirming off easily. This is a great solution to give my arms a break without having to strap him into a full carrier, and I find the weight distribution very comfortable for me as well. All of the pockets and pouches are a bonus.
